Matty Wilkinson

Matty Wilkinson

Matty Wilkinson practices the Feldenkrais Method®, Anat Baniel Method® for Children, and Jeremy Krauss Approach in Boston and internationally. These movement methodologies integrate neuroscience, physics and learning theory, and grow out of the work of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, physicist, judo instructor and pioneer in the field of somatics.

Matty holds a BA from UC Berkeley and a MA in Child Development from Tufts University. Matty is fascinated by the developmental process and believes in the innate potential of each individual to learn.

In his private practice with children and families, Matty uses movement, play and communication to empower and facilitate developmental learning. He has worked with diverse populations including children and adults with scoliosis, developmental delays, neurological injuries (i.e. stroke, cerebral palsy), chronic pain, learning disabilities, genetic conditions, and individuals on the autism spectrum.

In 2022 Matty began to study and later teach JKA Solvents and Glue, a progressive movement practice, done mostly in standing, that draws inspiration from Feldenkrais’ methodology but focuses on cultivating strength, stability, and mobility. This novel (and quite brilliant!) application of some of Feldenkrais’ core ideas can help us recover from injury, develop strength, and maintain flexibility, mobility and easy uprightness as we age.

As a member of the Living Whole Online community, Matty is excited to explore interconnections, find inspiration, and connect with a global community of people who are passionate about creating and enhancing wellness.

Matty and his wife Tiffany Sankary teach Feldenkrais and JKA online at Movement and Creativity and live in Somerville, MA with their two children.
