Course Description
What is a River Tray and how does David make one?
Woodworking is one of the creative pursuits that captures our souls and helps us heal. Appreciating the beauty of trees is the foundation of this art form. Start by finding a piece of wood and seeing its potential, in the way that a sculptor sees the form in a piece of marble.
In this film, David prepares several trays for friends, including the sublime experience of “enjoying the pour,” using beautiful epoxy colors, to create the “flowing river” sensation in the tray.
David will show you how to create a form to hold the project and prepare and care for the wood. You watch him demonstrating the tools of the art of woodworking, including the use of a planer, a joiner, a belt sander, an orbital sander, a table saw to trim the edges, a blow torch to make bubbles disappear, fine sanding and polishing and finishing with Odie’s Oil. Finally, he shows you how to install handles and rubber feet to make your tray ready to hold and serve your delicious food.
You will find yourself embracing focus, patience, and creativity. Art is an integral part of Integrative Whole Health and Integrative Whole Health is an essential part of your Living Whole journey.
