We Recommend That You
Join Derek Notman as he helps you learn about the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu, which is a self-care, self-strengthening energy practice that is thousands of years old. All you need to practice self-care in Jin Shin Jyutsu are your hands. Derek will teach you to hold what are called safety energy locks in your body, helping to release energy blockages that occur simply because life creates stresses for you. In Jin Shin Jyutsu, energy blockages are referred to as “stuckness” and “stagnation.” When you hold the safety energy locks, you restore circulation and the natural intelligence of your body and release blocked energy. Notice your experience. Bring attention and curiosity to your Jin Shin Jyutsu practice and you will support your body to help you with the symptoms of anxiety that cause you so much discomfort.
Course Description
In the Bowels TLC, you saw that an Integrative Whole Health approach to your concerns about bowels includes what the conventional medicine system understands about bowel illnesses and what it can offer to you. You learned how to move your body and nourish yourself with foods to relieve bowel symptoms, and the mind/body/spirit tools that can help you. Integrative Whole Health is an essential part of your Living Whole journey.
In Derek Notman’s program teaching you Jin Shin Jyutsu for Bowels, he introduces you to the first step in the Large Intestine flow, by having you place your left hand on your left shoulder and hold your left pointer finger with your right hand. Later you can do the same with your right side of your body.
Derek demonstrates a second flow that supports bowel health, with one hand at Safety Energy Lock (SEL) 2 and the other hand on the inguinal fold of the same side of the body.
SEL 2 is located on the lower back, and the inguinal fold is in the groin. This hold facilitates energy coming up the back of the body and descending in the front, clearing energy blockages in the waist and hips. It is very useful for facilitating movement in the large intestine.
Both of these holds help you embrace silence and stillness, inviting you to drop deeper into the felt sense of your body, and noticing your experience. Allow yourself to receive the invitation to drop deeper into your body and let go. Be still, listen for the pulsations under your fingers, and release all tension, being with yourself in perfect harmony.
