
Nancy COPPELMAN
Nancy Coppelman is Director of Community Outreach and Engagement at the Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and the Center for Alzheimer Research and Treatment at Massachusetts General Brigham Hospital in Boston. She oversees MADRC initiatives including the Community Advisory Board, Community Educational Program, Research Ambassadors & Care Partners and Speakers’ Bureau, as well as the Global Alzheimer Platform Foundation Citizen Scientist Award program.
Nancy initiated and leads Memory Sunday New England, a faith-based collaboration made up of leaders at the local, city and state levels focused on raising awareness about memory loss, aging and Alzheimer’s Disease in the African American community. The year-long collaboration culminates in the June event, “Memory Sunday,” which began in 2018 in Boston. She also received a 2019 Partners in Excellence award in the category of Fostering Community.
Nancy and her wonderful husband Jon are parents of two spirited daughters, Julia and Anna. Julia is a public defender in Brooklyn NY and Anna a baker in Chilmark MA. Nancy has a B.A. in Art History from Wheaton College and, in her free time, pursues her own creative projects and how best to live her third chapter.
