All upright plants and animals are pulled in two directions as they grow. The force of gravity pulls us toward the earth, grounding us. Vertical growth pulls us toward the sky. When we healthfully grow in these two directions, we are balanced in our minds, bodies and spirits. Mindful movement of our bodies assists our healthful growth. When we become imbalanced, we will notice warning signs. We may feel pain and other symptoms that ask us to pay attention and make some adjustments and shift some patterns.
